SCORM content

You can add SCORM content to any content area in your course.

SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a standard for e-learning content developed as part of the United States DoD (Department of Defense) ADL (Advanced Distributed Learning) initiative. There are tens of thousands of training courses within the DoD, many of which lend themselves to e-learning delivery. Before the SCORM standard was established, each military service developed its own independent e-learning systems, which resulted in compatibility problems and redundant development costs. The same problems existed in the private sector, as well—most notably in the aviation industry.

Based on XML, the SCORM standard specifies a standard method for developing e-learning content, thereby enabling inter-operability, accessibility, and reuse of Web-based learning content. IMS Content Packaging specifications and IMS Simple Sequencing specifications are incorporated in the SCORM standard.
