Customizing courses>>Adding content
You can attach files of almost any type to items you create in your CourseCompass course. You can also add attachments to assignments, Discussion Board messages, and e-mail.
For example, you can attach Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft PowerPoint® slides, Adobe Photoshop® graphics, Macromedia® Shockwave files, Adobe Acrobat® PDFs, and Microsoft Excel® workbooks.
To attach a file to course content you are adding or modifying:
Click Browse next to File to Attach (the name of this field may vary depending on the type of content you are adding).
In the Choose file box, navigate to the directory that contains the file.
Click the name of the file.
Click Open.
Continue creating or modifying the content.
Notes:
You can attach almost any type of file to course content in CourseCompass, including documents, graphics files, video clips, audio clips, and slides. To view the contents of the attachment, your students must have an application on your computer that can open the file.
Before you upload a file in CourseCompass, ensure the file name is valid. Valid file names can include letters, numbers, dashes (-) and underscores (_). The dot (.) is reserved for use between the file name and the file extension (only one per file). Do not use special characters (such as #, ", &, and %) in file names; doing so results in a File Not Found error.
To view files you attach, students must have the appropriate application installed on their computers.
To save a file attachment from CourseCompass to your computer:
Click the name of the attachment, which appears as a link below the item name.
Click Save this file to disk, then click OK.
Click the arrow next to the Save in box and navigate to the directory where you want to store the file
Click Save.
