By default, all the different content areas and CourseCompass tools are available. However, if you know that you won't be using a particular tool, you can deselect it so it no longer appears to you or your students. For example, if you will not be using the Discussion Board in your course, you can deselect it so it doesn't appear on the Communication page. Similarly, if you do not plan to add events to the course calendar, you can hide it from your students.
To make a tool unavailable:
Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel.
Click Manage Tools under Course Options.
Click Tool Availability.
Deselect the tools you want to make unavailable.
Click Submit, then click OK.
Note: The CourseCompass Product Support does not support Chalk Title Management or Observer Tools. CourseCompass also does not recognize the Guest and Observer user roles.
Caution: If you deselect Content Area, the Course Information, Course Documents, Assignments, and other key content areas will no longer appear in the course menu nor be available to your students.
