Copying or moving content between content areas or courses

You can copy content from one content area to another either within your course or between courses. You can also copy folders and learning units with all their contents.

Similarly, you can move content between content areas or between courses. To move content, you copy it to the destination and then delete it from the source location.

To copy or move content:

  1. Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Under Content Areas, click the area that contains the content you want to copy or move. If necessary, click the folder or learning unit that contains the content.

  4. Click Copy next to the content you want to copy or move.

  5. (Optional) Select the course to which you want to copy or move content from the Destination Course drop-down list. The list includes all the courses for which you have Instructor access.

  6. Click Browse to select a destination for the course content. Select a location from the course map that appears in a pop-up window. To expand the map, click + (plus sign) next to a content area. Click Submit in the pop-up window to close it and display the selected destination in the Destination Folder box.

  7. Select Yes for Delete item after copy? if you want to delete the content from the source location after it has been copied to the destination; in other words, if you want to move the content. Otherwise, leave No selected so that the content will appear in both the source and destination locations.

  8. Click Submit, then click OK.

The copied or moved content appears at the bottom of the content list in the destination location.
