Participating in forums

One advantage of using the Discussion Board is that it logs and organizes all the contributions to a conversation, called a forum. Forum messages are grouped into threads that contain a main posting and all the replies to it.

In a Discussion Board, you can:

• Enter a forum

• Expand and collapse message threads

• View only unread messages

• View messages on a single page

• Search and sort messages

• Select or deselect messages

• Read and reply to a message

• Mark messages as read or unread

• Lock or unlock messages

• Remove one or more messages

• Add a thread

• Add an equation to a Discussion Board thread

• Remove a thread
