Adding files to the Digital Dropbox

You can access files in your Digital Dropbox from any computer with an Internet connection. Thus, instead of carrying files around on disk, you can add them to your Digital Dropbox and pick them up later from a different location.

If you are ready to send a file to one or more students, send it rather than adding it to your Digital Dropbox. CourseCompass automatically adds files that you send to students to your Digital Dropbox.

Note: If you have enabled a Section Instructor to access your course, he or she shares the ability to access the Digital Dropbox for the purpose of dropping off and picking up student work.

To add a file to the Digital Dropbox:

  1. Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Digital Dropbox under Course Tools.

  4. Click Add File.

  5. Enter the title of the document.

  6. Click Browse and locate the directory on your computer where you saved the file.

Note: If necessary, select All Files (*.*) to display all the files in a given directory.

  1. Click the file name, then click Open.

  2. (Optional) Type additional information or instructions in the Comments box.

  3. Click Submit, then click OK.

The file appears in your Digital Dropbox; only you and your section instructor(s) can view it. You can send the file to students at a later time.
