Using course tools

Group Pages

You have the option of dividing students into groups, and then enabling different communication options, such as a Discussion Board or Virtual Classroom, for each individual group. Groups let students work with and complete assignments with a smaller number of peers.

Each group you create has a page from which either you or the students can access the communication options you've enabled for that group. To check in on the work of a group, you start by viewing that group's page.

To view a group's page:

  1. Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.

  2. Click Communication in the course menu.

  3. Click Group Pages.

Note: You can add a button to the course menu that accesses this page directly. If you do create a new navigation button, advise your students of its name.

  1. Click the name of the group whose work you want to view.

  2. Click the link to the tool or activity you want to view.

Note: You see only those tools you enabled when you created the group.
