Assessing student work>>Making assessments available
You can remove an assessment from a content area (for example, Course Documents or Assignments). Removing the assessment from the content area does not remove it from the course. It is still available in the assessment's manager, which you access from the Control Panel, and can be added to a new content area.
Caution: You can remove the assessment from the course altogether if you want, but doing so permanently deletes it.
Tip: If you want to hide the assessment from your students, consider making the assessment unavailable instead of removing it.
To remove an assessment from a content area:
Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel.
Under Content Areas, click the link for the content area that contains the assessment, for example Course Documents.
Navigate to the place in the content area where the assessment is deployed. For example, from Course Documents, navigate to a chapter folder.
Click Remove next to the assessment you want to delete.
Click OK.
If any students have taken a non-TestGen assessment, a warning page appears. Read the warning carefully, select one of the options presented, the click Submit.
Preserve assessment scores in the gradebook. If students have taken the assessment, their scores remain in the gradebook, but the assessment attempts are removed. Therefore, assessment attempt details are no longer available for you to review.
Remove the content item (assessment) altogether, including scores, attempts, and the gradebook item. CourseCompass discards all student records for the assessment.
Caution:
CourseCompass does not warn you if students have already taken a TestGen test you are removing from a content area. The test scores are preserved in the gradebook, however.
If students have already taken the assessment, removing it also removes all assessment attempts. In other words, by default, each student's copy of the assessment and his or her assessment attempt details in the gradebook disappear.
