Students respond in writing to an essay question or topic. They can enter their essays directly or cut-and-paste text into the box provided. Unlike questions of other types, essays are not automatically graded. You or your section instructors must manually grade them. You can provide a sample essay or specify points to be covered to help graders evaluate essays. You can also display this information to students, if you let them see correct answers when they review the test.
You can create an essay question, and then add it to a test, survey, or pool.
