Assessing student work>>Creating and managing questions>>Adding and removing questions
This procedure assumes that you are in the process of creating or modifying an assessment; you have selected From a Question Pool or Assessment in the Add drop-down list on the Test Canvas page, and clicked GO; and you are now on the Search Pools and Assessments page.
To select specific questions from a pool or assessment:
On the Search Pools and Assessments page, click the Search or Advanced tab. Advanced search lets you search for questions by category or keyword as well as by question type.
Select one or more pools and tests from the list of assessments that appears. If you are adding questions to a survey, the list of assessments includes pools and surveys.
To select consecutive assessments, click the first assessment, press and hold SHIFT, then click the last assessment.
To select assessments that are not consecutive, press and hold CTRL, then click each assessment.
If you clicked the Advanced tab, select any combination of the search options. If you clicked the Search tab, select the question types only.
Related Categories – If you created question categories, you can select a category from the Related Categories list.
Keywords – If you associated questions with keywords, you can enter one or more of those keywords, separated by commas.
Question types – Select All or any combination of question types you want to add to your assessment.
Click Search.
The Search Pools and Assessments page displays the questions that meet the search criteria you specified. If no questions were found that meet the criteria, a message appears.
Select the box next to each question you want to add to your assessment, or use the buttons at the top of the page to select questions:
Click Select All to choose all questions on the page.
Click Deselect to clear all questions on the page.
Click Invert to change the current selections so that previously unselected questions are selected and vice versa.
Tip: Click Preview to the right of a question to view it before deciding whether to add it to the assessment.
Click Submit.
(Optional) Add another question of the same or different type.
Click OK on the Canvas page to save the assessment.
Notes:
You may want to enable creation settings, such as defining a standard point value for each question or specifying feedback for each incorrect/correct answer, to make working with the assessment easier.
You can use creation settings to set a default point value for all of the questions you add to a new or existing test. This feature is available only when you are adding questions to a test. After you have finished adding questions to the test, you cannot set a default point value for all of the questions in the test; you must set the point value individually for each question.
Questions you add to a test from a pool or assessment are assigned a default point value of 0. To change the point value, modify the question.
