Assessing student work>>Creating and managing questions>>Adding and removing questions
This procedure assumes that you are in the process of creating or modifying an assessment; you have selected Random Block in the Add drop-down list on the Test Canvas page, and clicked GO; and you are now on the Add/Modify Random Block page.
To select a random block of questions from a pool:
On the Add/Modify Random Block page, elect a pool from the list of pools that appears. Wait for the page to refresh.
The Search the pools below list displays the number of questions of each question type in parentheses. For example, there may be 70 multiple choice questions and 10 essays.
Select one or more types of questions you want included in the random block. Alternatively, check All for a random sampling of question types.
Be sure the question type is included in the pool. If so, the number of questions of that type appear in parentheses.
Enter the number of questions you want to import into your assessment.
Enter the number of points to assign to each question.
Click Import to save your settings and add the random block to your assessment.
(Optional) Add another question of the same or different type.
Click OK on the Canvas page to save the assessment.
Notes:
You can add random blocks of questions to a test only, not to a survey or pool.
You cannot enable assessment creation settings for random blocks of questions as you can for other question types.
Unlike questions you add individually to an assessment, questions in a random block must all carry the same point value.
You can also add specific questions from a pool or assessment into another assessment.
