Categories make it easier to find existing questions you want to add to an assessment. Any categories you define are available for use with every assessment in your course so you can readily add questions to categories.
You can also associate questions with keywords.
Note: To create categories and associate questions with them, you must enable the Add categories and keywords to questions creation setting.
This procedure assumes you are in the process of adding questions to an assessment or modifying assessment questions.
To add a category:
On the Test Canvas, Survey Canvas, or Pool Canvas page, click Modify next to the question you want to categorize.
Click Categorize under Categories (at the bottom of the page).
Any categories to which the question already belongs appear under Current Categories.
Click Category Manager.
Enter the name of the new category, then click Add. The new category appears in the Existing Categories list. Repeat this step to add as many categories as you want.
Click OK.
Select a category from the list and click Add to add the question to a category. Repeat this step to add the question to more than one category.
Click OK.
