Assessing student work>>Creating TestGen tests
You may want to preview a TestGen test to see it exactly as the students do when they take and then review it. To preview a CourseCompass assessment you must first add it to a content area. However, you can preview a TestGen test whether or not you have added it to a content area.
Note: You have to install the TestGen plug-in to preview and take TestGen tests in CourseCompass.
To preview a TestGen test:
Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel.
Click TestGen Manager under Assessment.
Click Modify next to the TestGen test that you want to preview. The TestGen Test Canvas page appears.
Click Preview to the right of the TestGen file name.
Click the Take Test button to see the test questions as a student would. If you have set a password for the test, enter it, as prompted, then click Submit Password. Remember that the password is case-sensitive.
Use the buttons in the TestGen interface to navigate and optionally take the test. If you take the test, your results will not be recorded in the gradebook. The buttons function as follows:
Previous returns to the previous question.
Next goes to the next question.
Bookmark tags a question to return to later.
Summary lists the question numbers and indicates which questions have been answered and which you have bookmarked to return to.
Submit submits the test results to the gradebook.
When you are finished, click OK.
(Optional) Modify the test to make changes after previewing the test.
