Generating reports on course usage or activity

You set the criteria for the type of course usage report you want CourseCompass to generate. You also specify whether to generate a report for all students or selected students.

To generate a report on course usage or activity:

  1. Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Course Statistics under Assessment.

  4. Select a report type for CourseCompass to generate from the Select Report drop-down list:

Note: CourseCompass records a "hit" each time a student clicks a link or page in your CourseCompass course. For example, CourseCompass records 4 hits when a student reads a message in the Discussion Board. These 4 hits include each click a student makes to access the message: click Communication in the course menu (1st hit), click Discussion Board (2nd hit), click a forum title (3rd hit), then click a message to read it (4th hit).

  1. (Optional) Select a time range for the report. By default, the time range is from the time you created the course until one day after the current day.

  2. Under Users, indicate whether you want to include all students (users) or specific ones. If you select Selected Users, select the students you want from the list provided.

Tips:

  1. Click Submit.

  1. Scroll through the reports to review the data.

  2. (Optional) Click Change Filter at the top of the page to modify the report criteria.

  3. (Optional) Click Print or Export Data.
