Pools are repositories of questions that you can add to an assessment or use to create an assessment. Some CourseCompass courses come with publisher-provided pools. You can also create your own pools.
CourseCompass provides a variety of question types, such as multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, true/false, and essay, that you can include in any combination in your pools. By default, each question is assigned a point value of 10. After you add a pool question to an assessment, you can modify the question to change the point value.
Here are the basic steps for creating a pool:
Click Pool Manager in the Assessment area of the Control Panel.
Click Create Pool to begin creating the pool.
Enter a name, a description, and instructions.
Select a question type.
Enter the question text.
Provide answers where appropriate. For example, you provide answers for a multiple-choice question.
Specify the order in which answer choices appear, where appropriate. For example, in a matching question, you provide the order in which the possible answers are listed in relation to the questions.
Provide feedback the students see for correct and incorrect responses.
Save the pool.
