Assess student work

Working with multiple fill-in-the-blank assessments

Depending on the course materials selected, your course may have multiple fill-in-the-blank assessments available in a course content area, such as Assignments. For multiple fill-in-the-blank assessments, students provide the missing word, phrase, or value. CourseCompass evaluates fill-in-the-blank answers based on an exact text match. If a student misspells the correct answer, for example, the question is marked as incorrect.

Tip: Because multiple fill-in-the-blank assessment scores are automatically reported in the gradebook, you may want to review each student's test answers to determine if the answer deserves credit or not.

Multiple fill-in-the-blank (MFIB) assessments look like this:

Similar to TestGen tests, instructors preview and students take multiple fill-in-the-blank tests by clicking the here link below the test name.

Important: You cannot modify or create new multiple fill-in-the-blank assessments. However, you can modify certain features such as the assessment name, content availability (making the assessment visible to students or allowing multiple attempts), and feedback options.
