Using the gradebook>>Weighting grades
You can set up your gradebook so grades are not weighted. If you do not weight grades, all scores are treated with equal weight, and students' averages are simple averages. In other words, the total number of points the student earns is divided by the total number of points possible for all gradebook items. This simple average appears in the Total column in the spreadsheet view of the gradebook.
Important: In calculating a simple average for a student, CourseCompass includes points for ungraded items. For example, if there are 10 items in the gradebook with a total of 600 possible points and a student has completed work on only 8 of the items available, his or her average is still calculated using 600 as the total possible points.
To set up your gradebook so grades are not weighted:
Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel.
Click Gradebook under Assessment.
Click Weight Grades.
Make sure all the weight values are set to 0%.
Click Submit, then click OK.
