The spreadsheet view provides a comprehensive view of the gradebook. From this view, you can access all the information, features, and functions in the gradebook.
The spreadsheet lists data for each student in rows and for each gradebook item in columns. Every student is assigned a value for every item in the gradebook. The value is either a representation of a grade (shown in one of the available grade display options) or a grading symbol that indicates the status of the student's work on that item.
Two additional columns appear in the spreadsheet: Total and Weighted Total. The Total column shows the percentage of total points each student earned. For example, if the sum total of points possible for all gradebook items is 500, and a student earns 430 points, his or her percentage of total points is 86. The Weighted Total column shows the sum of all the student's weighted averages for items in the gradebook. If you do not weight grades, then this column is blank.
