Viewing statistics on assessment attempts

You can view statistics on students' responses to questions on tests and surveys. For example, you can see how many times a particular answer was selected for a multiple-choice question. This view is helpful for identifying common errors on tests and for tallying survey results.

To view statistics on assessment attempts:

1. Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.

2. Click Control Panel.

3. Click Gradebook Views under Assessment.

4. Click View Grades by Item.

5. To view details for a specific item, click the item name.

6. Click Assessment Attempt Details to see the text of each assessment question, the text of each possible answer, and the percentage of students who chose each answer.

Note: This link does not appear if you have removed the assessment from the content area where it was deployed or removed the assessment from the course. Removing the assessment also removes all student attempts.

When you are finished viewing the assessment statistics, click OK.

Note: You can also access the Item Options page by clicking a gradebook item in the spreadsheet view.
