Using the gradebook>>Exporting and importing grades
You can download and save individual assessment or survey results to your computer, or to a disk. The downloaded results file is a comma-separated value file (.csv file) that you can edit in an application, such as Microsoft® Excel.
To download individual assessment or survey results:
Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel.
Click Gradebook under Assessment.
Click a test or survey name.
Click Download Results.
Review the information, then click Submit.
Click Save.
Accept the current file name, or type a new name. Browse to select a folder, then click Save to copy the file to the selected folder.
Click Open to launch Excel (or some other spreadsheet application) and open the .csv file, or click Close to open the file later in a spreadsheet application.
Click OK.
Notes:
Student names are not included in a downloaded survey .csv file, so a downloaded survey could also be used as an anonymous assessment. Student names are included in a downloaded assessment .csv file.
Question text and results download for all question types. Answers download only for multiple-choice and true/false questions. For all other question types, the answer field displays Unsupported Question Type.
Follow these steps to open the downloaded file in a spreadsheet application. This procedure uses Excel.
Launch Excel and select File > Open.
Locate and select the downloaded file.
Tip: If the downloaded file is not listed, enter *.csv in the
File Name box, then click Open to display all the .csv files in
that folder.
Click Open.
If you make changes to the data, select File > Save.
A message informs you that the .csv file may contain features that are not compatible with the comma-separated value (.csv) format. Click Yes to keep the file in the .csv format. When you close the file, Excel asks if you want to save changes to the file. Unless you made further changes to the file after clicking Yes to the first message, click No.
