Self-assessment survey can be created in two formats - No Sections or Multi-Section. You can change the format of a survey before or after it has been deployed.
Note: Making changes to a self-assessment survey after students begin taking the survey is not suggested and will prompt a warning message.
To change a No-Sections format to a Multi-Section format:
Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel.
Navigate to the self-assessment survey.
If you created the survey using the Self-Assessment Survey Manager, click Self-Assessment Survey Manager under Assessment and locate your survey. Continue on step 4.
If you created the survey in a content area, click the link corresponding to the area where you created the survey, for example, Course Documents or Assignments, and locate your survey. Then:
Click the Modify button to the right of the self-assessment survey. The Modify Self-Assessment Survey page appears.
Click the Modify the Self-Assessment Survey link. The Self-Assessment Survey Canvas appears. Continue on step 6.
Click the Modify button to the right of the self-assessment survey.
Click Next. The Self-Assessment Survey Canvas appears.
Click the Modify button located in the self-assessment survey info area. This is a blue-shaded area displaying Name, Description, Instructions, and Format information.
In the Format section, select Multi-Section and click Submit. The Self-Assessment Survey Canvas appears.
To add additional sections, select Section from the Add drop-down menu.
When done modifying the survey, click OK.
To change a Multi-Section format to a No Sections format:
Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel.
Navigate to the self-assessment survey.
If you created the survey using the self-assessment survey Manager, click Self-Assessment Survey Manager under Assessment and locate your survey. Continue on step 4.
If you created the survey in a content area, click the link corresponding to the area where you created the survey, for example, Course Documents or Assignments, and locate your survey. Then:
Click the Modify button to the right of the self-assessment survey. The Modify Self-Assessment Survey page appears.
Click the Modify the Self-Assessment Survey link. The Self-Assessment Survey Canvas appears. Continue on step 6.
Click the Modify button to the right of the self-assessment survey.
Click Next. The Self-Assessment Survey Canvas appears.
Click the Modify button located in the self-assessment survey info area. This is a blue-shaded area displaying Name, Description, Instructions, and Format information.
In the Format section, select No Sections and click Submit.
Note: When changing the format from multi-section to no sections the sections that you have defined will be retained, but they will be hidden from view. Later, if you choose, you can recall the sections by changing the format back to multi-section.
Click OK to confirm that you want to change the format of the self-assessment survey. The Self-Assessment Survey Canvas appears.
Add items to the survey, or click OK if done.
