Clearing self-assessment survey attempts

You may want to allow certain students to retake a self-assessment survey. The gradebook allows you to clear one or all student attempts on a self-assessment survey so that the current gradebook symbol and any information associated with the student's original attempt are cleared from the gradebook.

You can clear one student's attempt or all student attempts.

To clear one student's attempt at a self-assessment survey:

  1. Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Gradebook under Assessment.

  4. Click the symbol for the self-assessment survey. The Modify Grade page appears.

  5. Click the Clear Attempt button corresponding to the attempt to be cleared, and then click OK in the confirmation pop-up.

Note: The View button does not appear if the student has not begun the self-assessment survey or if you have removed the survey from the content area where it was deployed.

The Modify Grade page appears and shows that the attempt has been cleared.

To clear all student attempts at a self-assessment survey:

  1. Click the course name on the My CourseCompass page.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Click Gradebook under Assessment.

  4. Click the name of the self-assessment survey. The Item Options page appears.

  5. Click Item Grade List. The View Item Grades page appears.

  6. Specify the attempts to be cleared by making a selection from the Clear Attempts drop-down list. This drop-down list offers the following choices:

Note: If you select Specify Date, use the From and Until drop-down lists to define date ranges.

  1. Click the Go button to the right of the drop-down list.  

  2. Click OK in the confirmation pop-up. The specified attempts are cleared.
